Eden Rock sits on its own rocky promontory between the two halves of St. Jean Bay, and the view from the Sand Bar at lunch — feet in the sand, rosé sweating in the glass, the bay impossibly blue in both directions — is the single image that defines St. Barths for most travelers. The rooms are individually designed, the art collection is genuinely serious, and the restaurant is one of the best on the island. It's the hotel that made St. Barths famous, and it still earns it.
